Our Courses
Our professional development courses are designed for GPs, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams. Each course translates current evidence into practical clinical knowledge through case-based learning, reflection and real-world examples that can be applied in everyday practice.

Diabetes Classifications for Health Professionals
1.5 hours Online or In-Person: Brisbane & Ipswich
This course aims to strengthen clinicians’ knowledge and confidence in recognising diabetes presentations that do not follow the typical features of type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Participants will explore LADA, type 3c diabetes, steroid-induced diabetes, ketosis-prone diabetes and monogenic diabetes, including key clinical clues, appropriate initial investigations and when specialist referral is indicated.

Insulin Management in Primary Care
4.0 hours Online or In-Person: Brisbane & Ipswich
This course aims to strengthen clinicians’ knowledge and confidence in managing insulin and escalating glucose-lowering therapies. Participants will explore insulin initiation, practical titration, interpretation of glucose data, hypoglycaemia risk, treatment intensification and recognising when specialist input or referral is required.

Pharmaco- and Non-Pharmacotherapy Options in Metabolic Health
3.5 hours Online or In-Person: Brisbane & Ipswich
This course aims to strengthen clinicians’ knowledge and confidence in providing evidence-based, person-centred weight management care. Participants will explore comprehensive assessment, weight stigma, lifestyle interventions, pharmacotherapy, treatment monitoring and the development of individualised, sustainable management plans.

Diabetes Primary Care Masterclass
8.0 hours Online or In-Person: Brisbane & Ipswich
This full-day, eight-hour face-to-face masterclass provides an intensive, case-based learning experience across diabetes, metabolic health and primary care. Topics include atypical diabetes presentations, continuous glucose monitoring and diabetes technology, insulin management and titration, escalation of glucose-lowering therapies, evidence-based weight management, and culturally safe chronic disease care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Participants will also explore assessment, clinical reasoning, investigations, prescribing, monitoring, clinical red flags, care coordination and referral across a range of common and complex primary care presentations.
